The Adventures of Cherry Bombs: Conquering China Town One Photo At A Time

On Friday, our first adventure after breakfast was to find and conquer China Town. Excluding that fact that food was everywhere and none of the signs were in English so there was telling what was for sale, it was a lot of fun. We enjoyed finding props in the stores for good photo ops.

Sometimes we used parasols to because picture whores.

Other times it was using fans to become geishas...

Sometimes we used scary coconut shells with freaky faces…

Other times we tried on hats…

Sometimes we just posed with friends…

Other times sharps were involved in preparation for some shanking…

And then while wandering the streets, sometimes we find Mustang commercials being filmed…

Other times, we pose with $8,500.00 sculptures for our first group photo.

Sometimes, we decide it was time to venture somewhere else after being disappointed by this pitiful gate to China Town.

The Adventures of Cherry Bombs: Best.Breakfast.Ever.

While creating an itinerary for our trip, going to Mama’s for breakfast was suggested and the moment Lauren saw Cranberry Walnut Orange French Toast, it was a must on our places to eat!

Since it gets busy, we had to be there super early Friday morning which meant starting our day off at 6:30am, after we only went to bed after 2:30am (which was 5:30am my time mind you!). We left the hotel and this is what is looked like.

Thank God for Ashton, Lauren, & Christina having their smart phones or it would have taken forever to get there!

We made it to this cute little restaurant just in the right time that we only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. Those coming after us were not so lucky and had to wait outside along the building.

Inside was very quant and bright. Our table was beside a window that overlooked a park with old people playing exercising with samurai swords. Entertainment at its finest. The kitchen was open and there was fresh, yummy food sitting right behind the glass to watch as we waited in line to order.

When we got our food, it was amazingly delicious!

Here is my Banana Pancakes and Lauren’s French Toast sampler.

Ashton with her Eggs Benedict

Alex with her eggs and bacon

Christina with her mini pancakes and Lauren with her French Toast.

We savored every bit of our breakfast and our expectations for how yummy things would be were blown out of the water. I still may dream about breakfast there often. Mama’s is a definite place to check out if you were get out to San Francisco!

The Adventures of Cherry Bombs: An Afternoon Tea Party

*Please note my posts will be in so specific order, they are just coming out how they come out. Love me through it.

When talks of San Francisco started, it was not long after when Lauren suggested to do tea at Crown & Crumpet. After looking at their website, everyone agreed it was a must on our trip itinerary! So on the first day, we made a tea date for the afternoon.

When we got there, it was amazing. It was beautiful, like a little girl’s dream place to be. There were people of all ages there from a family celebrating a little girl’s birthday, to a bunch of girlfriends celebrating, to mother and daughters doing tea together.

The walls were covered with gorgeous artwork and it was so much to take in!

They sat us in the back in front of the faux fireplace on the couch and chairs for our feast!

Our Feast included:

5 pots of tea (but we only drank 3! Strawberry Fields Green Tea, Peach White Tea, and my favorite, Paris Black Tea!)

Yummy Tea Sandwiches: Roast Beef, Cucumber, Salmon, Onion & Cheese, Egg Salad, and Chicken Curry Salad.

Crumpets and Scones!

With yummy spreads to put on top!

Last but not least was the selection of pastries! The ladies were in.love. with the blueberry tarts but my favorite were the short bread cookies.

The selection was wonderful but way too much, we didn’t even finish everything (we took the leftover back to the hotel, no worries!). Everything was delicious and it was so much fun!

Alex & Christina, Future Sister In Laws!

Ashton, Me, & Lauren on the couch!

Ashton with crazy eyes, me, & Lauren posing

AKA one of the best pictures of the trip.

Beautiful Alex!

This was my first time at tea and let me just say, I couldn’t have had a better time than with these ladies!

Only The Beginning

If someone were to ask me last week what is the craziest thing I've ever done, I'm pretty sure I would struggle to find an answer. I'm just not that type of person who does crazy things all the time. Spontaneous is not my middle name. Random could be but that is not the point.

Yes, so up to last weekend, not very crazy but then Thursday I stepped foot on a plane, for which I hate to do, and flew across the country to meet four of the most fabulous and gorgeous ladies to ever exist.

I didn't find this to be very crazy going into it, but after Vito worrying that these lovies could be serial killers, I realize it isn't very normal. But I think it should be because it is hard to but into words the amount of fun and laughter was smashed into such a short amount of time. People said "you girls don't know each other" but we did. And now we do even more. We have gone from ibffs to real bffs in a weekend and I wouldn't trade that weekend for anything.

Stayed tuned for many more updates from me and the ladies!

"If You Could Hear Me, I Would Say That Our Finger Prints Don't Fade From The Lives We've Touched."

So I was obviously just kidding when I said I'd update this weekend. Eventually. I promise.

My highlight this weekend was going to the movies with Vito. Just as planned for our date night, substituting Olive Garden for our original plans of Carrabba's, we went and saw Remember Me.

Haven't seen it? Drop whatever you are doing and go NOW! Here are the reasons why (no worries on major spoilers!):

Meet Tyler. Uhm hellllooo hottie! Yeah, please love me through this statement, but I love Rob more as Tyler than as Edward. I loved his acting in this movie, he's broken and does an amazing job at portraying it.

Meet Allie. Equally broken. Her story at the beginning breaks your heart.

Meet Tyler's "Daddy". I love me some Pierce. His boardroom scene was amazing.

Meet Tyler's hilarious roommate. One of the funniest lines in the movie:
Tyler: "When was the last time you only had one drink?"
Aiden: "Communion"

I snorted. love me through that too, k?

Meet Tyler's sister, Caroline. The scenes between Tyler and Caroline stole the entire movie for me. She is so talented and their relationship was the best part of this movie for me.

Have I told you that men who play guitar/bass win my heart? Yup. This picture makes me swoon.
Overall, really, it was an amazing movie. The ending made my jaw drop. Don't spoil it for yourself and go see it. I sure didn't see it coming! And if you go see it, please do not sit behind other movie-goers constantly making comments like "Oh, he's so hot!" "Rob's so sexy" "I wish I was her!" Though these thoughts may run through your mind at many points in the movie, vocalizing them is unecessary. K?
Have you seen it? What did you think(p.s. please don't put spoilers in the comments for those who haven't had a chance to go see it yet!)? Please feel free to email your thoughts.
If not, do you plan on seeing it?

Fill In The Blank Friday {3}

I've been a bad blogger. This week was horrible for school. 3 tests, presentation, and other homework assignment. Talk about being consumed. I swear I'll get around to doing a real update, hopefully this weekend!

Until then, it is Friday again! Which means Fill in the Blank with Lauren! Don't forget to participate and go link up over at her site!

1. The best day ever was the day my niece was born. If you can't tell by the millions of posts where I gush over her, she is the most important person in my life. Being an aunt is simply the best thing in life, hands down & the day I met her beautiful face, my life was forever changed.

2. My favorite meal of the day is dinner because usually includes sitting down with Vito. Growing up we really did not do family dinners. When Vito moved in, it something we found important for our relationship. It is our time to relax and enjoy food while talking about our day.

3. This weekend had taken forever to get here! Tonight involves going to see the best cover band to grace this earth. Tomorrow includes writing papers & going on a date night. I'm thinking Carraba's and Remember Me. Maybe swinging into Forever 21? Sunday includes family dinner at my sister's house. A good weekend indeed.

4. Never in my life have I learned to ride a bike. I use to ride my bike with training wheels but it never transitioned over into someone teaching me how to ride without them. Now I'm too big, meaning I have farther to fall. My balance = about zero. Vito has tried to teach me, it didn't go well. Oh well.

5. The only thing better than hearing Vito say "I Love You" is hearing my niece say "I love you Essa."

6. I could really do with some wine. It's been that kind of week.

7. The most recent thing I bought myself was food wise, I bought a coffee and a bagel for breakfast. Material things, I bought some clothes, sunglasses, and a new wallet at Kohl's last weekend with my 30% discount. 8)

Happy Friday Lovely Faces!!
