Favorite Posts Saturday {2}

It's that time again. Favorite Posts Saturday!

This is where I gathered 7 of my favorite posts from over the week to share with you all!

Bananas has an amazing outlook on her life.

Liz has a beautiful quote that really speaks to me.

Ashton has a beautiful post she put up for her friend's birthday.

Katrina spoke about love and her life.

Valerie reminds us to not take things for granted.

Amanda reminds us that blogging should not be an obligation.

Amy posted an awesome story about Hot Chocolate.

And a bonus that happens to be my most favorite post of the week comes from Christina. She & Alex promised to look after my heart that I left in Cali until I can come back. When they started making plans with Allison, I told Christina she must take my heart along so I can be there too. Bless her heart, she made my heart and is now taking it with her on travels! Please feel free to take a glance at my heart.

What was your favorite post of the week?

Tay-Swift Monologue Style.

Today I could talk y'all about:

How I woke up late and missed my class this morning,

How I have decided I'm not a good egg maker.

How in my dream last night I was with Alex & Christina and we were going to get Kellie to cheer her up.

How I worked half a semester developing a proposal for research project idea for which I now want to create a new one by Monday.

How I'm going to see New Moon tonight for the 3rd time in the theaters with some of my old coworkers.

How I've been neglecting emails & blogs for the past couple of days.

How I'm still sore in my shoulders from Yoga on Tuesday.

How I REALLY want to win Sara-Jane's giveaway because it sounds awesome.

How I want nothing more then to go shopping on Saturday night but I have no one to go with. Or money to spend.

How ever since I read Lauren's post, I've been craving Five Guy's like you wouldn't believe.

How I wore my ugly sweater today since it is wash day and no one will see me but my coworkers who don't care what I look like. Neither do I.

How I almost have 50 followers (yay!) and I'm thinking I want to do a giveaway but I don't know what to give away.

But instead I'll just tell y'all to have a fabulous weekend! 8)

"Your Words In My Memory Are Like Music To Me"

Title: Snow Patrol - "Set The Fire To The Third Bar"

I started a post today but I'm a bit scatter-brained to finish it. Probably due to the fact I went to bed late, dreamt I was shot in my head and died (fyi, you don't die if you die in your dream, because unless I'm going sixth sense kinda thing, I'm still alive), got up late, and I'm severely sore for doing yoga last night for the first time in a year. I'm babbling, sorry, it happens.

So instead of trying to put together something cohesive, I'm just going to post a video. I've pretty much listened to it many many many times for a few weeks now. I love it. Please love it with me.

Happy Wednesday!

10 on Tuesdays {2}

****Edit: I fixed the link again for my button so please tell me if it works when you try to copy the code. I would appreciate it!!****

Before you delve head first into my post, please take a moment and head over to Brittany's page to see her 100th post. She is doing an amazing giveaway that I *really* hope to win!

I think Tuesday is going to be the worst day of the week, but I do look forward to Ten on Tuesday! Feel free to head over to Roots and Rings to see her answers and take part too!

1. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Hmmm.. I guess I would say obtaining a 4.0 one semester at my community college. Now I think 4.0 is impressive in itself but add in that it was 6 classes and I was working full time. Let's talk about how rough that was. I don't think I was ever so proud or relieved when that semester was over.

2. How much did you weigh when you were born?
I was a big baby. 9 lbs and either 6 or 8 oz. I forget. I was one and my Princess was the other. Big babies are the best. Not for the mothers I assume. My mom never fails to remind me I was like "pushing out a watermelon" Awesome mom, thanks. She got her tubes tied within days of having me. I feel slightly offended but then I like to think she knew she couldn't have a more perfect daughter so she wouldn't want them to feel bad... hey whatever makes me feel better right? 8)

3. What is your favorite perfume?
Mmm Pink Sugar & DKNY Delicious (the red one!) They smell scrumptious.

4. How many siblings do you have?
Just one older sister.

5. How many children would you like to have? (Or how many do you have?)
Uhmm zero. Kid-less for me is the way to be. I have 1 furbaby. That is all.

6. What’s the best class you took in college?
I'm still in college (*sigh*) so I guess up until this point my favorite for content wise, I'd pick Counseling Theories. I love the professor and the info was great to learn. This class kicked my butt though, it was a 400 level course. As far as fun wise, I'd say when I took Espanol 1 at my community college. The teacher was hilarious, the class was so simple, & I sat in the back with 5 other people and we had a blast being stupid and enjoying ourselves. We goofed off more than we learned and I still managed to ace it. For 2 classes, we spent them at a mexican restaurant down the road while the professor did tequila shots with other students. That is getting your money worth.

7. What was your favorite game to play when you were a child?
Depends on what type of game. Board game? Clue. & I was always Miss Scarlet. Also Candy Land. Who didn't love that game?!

Playing outside would be Ghosts in the Graveyard and Kick the Can. I spent many of hours playing these with friends.

8. What character on Friends are you most like?
Hmm this is hard. Probably Monica because I love to cook like her though the cleaning thing? Negative.

9. Are you a phone person? (ie: Do you like talking on the phone?)
Nope. I use to be the girl in middle school who spent HOURS on the phone with the people I just spent all day with. I think I stock piled enough hours on the phone then to span the rest of my life time. I thank God for texting.

10. What was the best vacation you ever took?
Easily, Los Angeles. It was my first cross country trip with my favorite man in the world. 10 days to do whatever we wanted, see everything, and eat until our hearts were content. Plus I spent my birthday at Disney(first time visitor!) and waited over an hour to get my pic taken with Tinkerbell. It was serious business. I think I left my heart in Cali.

"It Makes Me Smile Because You Said It Best, I Would Clearly Feel Blessed"

Title: Owl City -

Have I ever told y'all that the bloggin' world never ceases to amaze me? I seriously love it more and more everyday. I've been nominated for 2 awards from 2 lovely ladies I happen to adore and I'm so thankful. Since I'm not that interesting and can't come up with 14 interesting facts, I'm combining these awards, like I did the last time I won 2 awards at the same time. I'm a rule breaker. 8)

So here are the rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award
2. Paste the award on your blog
3. Link the person who nominated you for the award
4. Tell 7 interesting things about yourself
5. Nominate 7 bloggers or less
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominated

So firstly I received the beautiful blogger award from the gorgeous Elizabeth. Now this lady is super fabulous. She always comments on my posts and always has encouraging things to say. Her blog posts always leave a smile on my face, especially her Thankful Thursday posts. If you have not had a chance to check out her blog, please do now. You won't regret it. Thanks Elizabeth from awarding this to me!!

The second award, Kreativ Blogger, I received from the beautiful Katrina. This girl can wrap you in with her words. Her posts are always eloquently written and I also look forward to reading them. Not to mention her beautiful photography. Make sure you check out her blog too, you won't regret this decision either! Thanks my dear for awarding me!

Now onto 7 interesting things about myself that I haven't mentioned before...

1.) I name my cars. I got my first car in March 2006. His name was Norbert. He was fabulous, used car (only a 2004) that had a sun roof and powered windows. While driving home from work in May someone pulled out in front of me and totaled my beloved Norbert, who I lovingly called Norbie for short. Devastated I was. I ended up getting the same car just an 06 in July and now he is Norbert Jr. I refer to him as Norbie J for short.

2.) I'm the biggest bargain shopper you will ever find. I've been this way since a young age. When I grew up and I was given money to go shopping for my birthday or something similar, I would get as many toys as I could for the money I had. I'm still the same way. If I can get 2 shirts for the price of 1 shirt, I'm going with the 2 shirts. I'm cheap and broke from being a college student. It is a way of life.

3.) Growing up we had birds and hamsters. Most kids get dogs or cats but we were not allowed since we rent our house. We had 6 birds (2 finches, 2 parakeets, and 2 cockatiels) plus multiple hamsters. It started out with my sister getting one. I wanted one so we got another for her and one for me. They told us the 2 new ones were girls... they were wrong. Mine (AJ, from the back street boys) was a little man. There were babies, lots and lots of babies.

4.) I drink water constantly. I'd say it is the most healthiest thing I do. I gave up soda a long time ago. I drink it on occasion when I'm really craving a cream soda (which is the BEST.SODA.EVER). In our house we usually only have water and milk to drink and things to make coffee. Water is my fav and nothing quenches it when I'm super thirsty but it.

5.) My absolute favorite day of the year is my birthday. I'm telling you it is a national holiday. I'm that girl who counts down (122) until it gets here. Everyone keeps saying one day I won't enjoy it anymore, psh they don't know me. I'm one for celebrating for as long as I can. This past year I was still doing things in June (my birthday is in May), it is fabulous!

6.) My favorite colors are pink and black. Pink has been my favorite color since I was little and black was added on when I hit middle school.

7.) I make lists for everything. I have note pads galore so I can make to-do lists, grocery lists, packing lists, homework lists, lists for parties... you get the point. You can tell, I frequently make my posts in the form of lists. It is the cool thing to do. Obvi. 8)

Now to award 7 fabulous bloggers. It gets harder and harder each time I do this! I wish to award everyone because I love all your blogs but this time I tried to award those I haven't given to before! 8)

Happy Friday!!

"We Have Big Dreams & Big Dream Takers"

Title: A Fine Frenzy - "Coming Around"

I survived my first day of classes, thanks for all the encouragement with my schedule. It'll be rough but with all this support, I feel like I might make it, with or without my sanity.

I'm not fashionable. It just isn't in me to care enough about what is "in" or "out" this season. I've never been one to care if my clothes are the next in thing. It has never happened and it isn't going to happen. I'm not one to care what I'm wearing, as long as it isn't outrageous (i.e. the people who do not look in the mirror before leaving the house) and I'm comfy. Now don't let that come off as I just wear anything, I know how to match.

In my wardrobe there are necessary items that if given the chance I would live in and wear all the time. There items are listed below:

Jeans

I went through an embarrassing time in my life where I wouldn't touch jeans. Now I live in them. My most exciting part of changing jobs from the bank to being a secretary is wearing jeans everyday (excluding when visitors visit, then I wear dress pants). I love them and I love that I can dress them up or down depending on shoes and shirts.

Camis

I don't think a day passes by where I'm not wearing a cami. In my mind they belong under everything. I have a plethora of white and black camis that I wear on a daily basis. I love layering tops, plus they help keep your junk in the right place. 8)

I also own lace camis which are great for dressing up a sweater. Lace is cute, end of story.

Yoga Pants

Let me just tell you if I was allowed to wear yoga pants to work, that would be the end of jeans. These things are SO comfy. I love putting them on when I get home from work and lounging in them. Plus they are great work out pants (when I work out...). These are a recent discovery for me (in the last year). If you don't own a pair, get some and thank me later.

Hoodies

My favorite part of winter wardrobe (along with boots and scarves) are hoodies. Hi, I love to lounge around in my hoodie and yoga pants. It is a common weekend outfit when I'm hanging around the house. Mmm they are so comfy and warm. I'd live in these all winter if I was allowed to wear them to work. True story.

Flip-Flops

My shoe of choice. I wish I could wear them everyday, if only for frost bite and work that bar me from doing just that. When outside of work and not below freezing, my feet sport these. I have a lot of different pairs. I just threw out a bunch that were getting old at the end of fall and I still have over a box full. I need to get stocking up for summer.. A girl must always have a pair to match with every outfit, it has been proven.

Now that you know what I live in, what are your must-have articles of clothing?

Just Sayin'

This pic just totes made my day. The end.

Its a funny thing about life... if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it.

Title: Quote by W. Somerset Maughemh

So Saturday night after doing some more cleaning, Vito & I decided to head over to the next county so I could exchange a Christmas present. I thought the store was at the mall over there, but I was wrong. We I decided we should look around still. This mall is about 3 times the size of the one I have. The first store I saw was Williams Sonoma. Now my lovely Alex told me to find this place and love it because it was the closest place I could find Sprinkles.

After much deliberating, I walked out with Vanilla & Red Velvet mix. I’m sooooo excited to make them!!

Next we saw that Border’s Express store was going out of business so we decided to check and see what they had. Not much. Most of the shelves were bare but I did find 3 books from the Gossip Girl series for $1.20 each. A steal? I think so!

Once we were done there, I found one of my favorite stores.

I actually drafted a post last week with a whole bunch of jewelry I was coveting. Luckily I picked up a few of the pieces off my list! I love how cute they are and how cheap they are!

I also picked up a pair of Bow earrings but I can’t find a picture on the site. I also finally picked up a hootie owl necklace so I could fit in with the cool kids and it looks like this:

The only difference is it didn’t come with the pin. Sadly when I got home I noticed that one of his eyes was missing. Now I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store and especially since the jewelry is super cheap, but all jewelry sales are final, which means I now own a cute hootie owl necklace that looks retarded without an eye… Ugh. Oh well, I have him hanging in my room where I can admire his cuteness.

From there, we headed to get some dinner at the Macaroni Grill. The food was scrumptious but our server sucked majorly. I hav many pet peeves when it comes to restaurants (which will come in another point) but let’s just say this man broke almost all of them. He is lucky there was crayons for me to draw on the paper table cloth and the food was good or I might have walked out. But the best part? We splurged and got dessert which we hardly ever do. What did we get? mmmm.

Tiramisu! & it was fabulous!

By this time, it was getting late so we were about to go home when I noticed a regular Border’s across from the restaurant. I asked Vito if he minded if we quick ran in to check on something. Guess what I bought ladies?!

I could tell you how excited I am but I’ll just let you infer it. I will be reading this hopefully over the next week before school work kicks in full force and causes me to put books to the wayside.

To say the least it was a fabulous Saturday evening with my love!

"You May Say I'm A Dream, But I'm Not The Only One."

Title: John Lennon - "Imagine"

It's been a long week but thank God it is Friday! Woot woot!

Somedays when I listen to the news or hear stories, it is hard not to think our world is full of hate and sadness and cruelty. Sometimes it is hard to remember that even with all those horrible things happening, there are still good people out there.

When I need help remembering that I read Gives Me Hope or Love Gives Me Hope. These sites are set up a lot like MLIA. Reading through some of the amazing things people do not only makes me teary eyes (grab a tissue!) but reminds me that there is still goodness in people.

Here is a few I grabbed off the site that really got me. Enjoy & Happy Friday!!

Gives Me Hope #29794

22 years ago, a 16 year old girl was pregnant with a baby of rape. Understanding the circumstances, her parents told her to abort or be disowned. Her best friend - her 18 year old neighbor - although he was not the father, stepped into the father figures shoes. They got married 2 years later. Mom and dad, your love for me and each other GMH.

Gives Me Hope #30407

After my Uncle died, my Aunt had to sell her house to get by. While showing it, a Vietnamese woman saw her surname and asked if she was related to a certain General. When my Aunt said yes, the woman began to cry; that General had personally sheltered her family during the Vietnam War. This woman is now supporting my Aunt until she gets a job. GMH.

Gives Me Hope #30725

When I was four, my doctor told my parents to put me in a learning disabilities school because I would never recover from the radiation therapy I had undergone to treat my leukemia. I got accepted to Yale yesterday. How much my parents believe in me GMH.

Gives Me Hope #30660

A couple months ago, my little brother came home from his first day in kindergarten. When I asked him about his class, he said "there's a girl in my class, and she's so pretty!" The girl he was talking about is a bald 5 year old with leukemia. His unconditional love GMH.

Gives Me Hope #30548

Yesterday while I was working, a father with his daughter came in with two bags of toys. He told me they had just come from her 6th birthday party, and I assumed they had a bunch of returns. The girl then proceeded to tell me that instead of getting gifts, she asked all her friends to bring presents to donate to our toy drive. GMH.

Gives Me Hope #28458

Over the summer, this 6-year-old (and quite effeminate) boy attending the summer camp I worked at was telling me about his favourite hot pink sandals that he wears, given to him by his father. A father who can accept his little boy for who he is GMH

Gives Me Hope #32263

Today, I was in the feminine-products aisle when a middle-aged man started asking me what brand I liked to use and which were the most effective, etc. It turns out that he is a single father to a preteen girl with Down Syndrome, and he was trying to find out which products work the best for his little girl. Caring, loving fathers GMH.

Gives Me Hope #32313

A few years ago, we were having financial difficulties. My big brother and I were told not to expect Christmas presents. When I woke up Christmas morning, I found presents for me under the tree. My brother had wrapped up his favorite toys so I would have Christmas presents. Brothers like Jake GMH.

Gives Me Hope #33036

I'd just been treated for cancer, and had been wearing a wig for the last couple of years. I recently got a new boyfriend and he didn't know about my condition. One day he came into my apartment while I wasn't wearing my wig. He told me that I was more beautiful than he could ever imagine. He truly GMH.

Gives Me Hope #32693

Today I remembered GMHs about people writing notes saying, "Smile. You are beautiful" in Eating Disorder recovery books. I decided to do the same at my local bookstore. A four year old boy saw what I was doing and helped me make notes for more than 50 books. He GMH.

Gives Me Hope #34265

I was at the mall the other day when I saw an old couple sitting together. The man looked over at the woman and said, "Jane, we did it. We grew old together." The look in her eyes GMH.
