“So you wanna be my friend, so you wanna be my lover. With you I do confess I can't be one without the other.”

Title: Teitur - “One & Only”

Warning: this post is picture overload.

I’m finally getting around to updating so first let’s talk about the snow. Remember how much I hate it? Yeah, it got worse. As if we didn’t get enough snow the first time around, the second batch it. We pretty much stayed inside until we had to go and dig out 2 days later. Here is a few pics. Please know that going out in the snow does not require any fashion sense.

Picnik collage1Vito thought it would be cool to dig a tunnel. He thought it would turn into a big room and hallways, he didn’t get very far.

At least we survived Snowmageddon! & if I never see snow again, I’d be pretty happy about it!

On to Valentine’s Day Weekend.

Saturday was spent with my Princess. We played games, ate Chinese food, & sang and danced to Lady Gaga.

We then did gifts. I got her a HSM musical DS game to which she shrieked and fell on the floor. She said it was the best gift ever. While Vito went to get Chinese, she wanted to make him a card so we got out my scrapbooking supplies and she made this beautiful card that he loved.

Of course Princess & I took pics, it is our tradition. Please ignore my hideous faces and enjoy her precious face.

I loved spending the day with my little Valentine.

On Valentine’s Day, I got up and cooked breakfast for Vito that included apple streusel pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and orange juice. It was a feast. We then watched the Notebook. After that I headed to Border’s to meet up with my Princess, sister, and brother-in-law. I worked on Homework while Vito got things ready.

For the rest of Vito’s present I got him a basket full of his favorite candies, big tubes of paint, new belts, and a scarf.

When I came home, I was greeted with a candlelight dinner. He made us steak, home made crab cakes, garlic mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli. For dessert, he won me over with chocolate covered strawberries.

We spent the rest of the night taking pics.

It was a fabulous Valentine’s day spent with the 2 people I love most!

"Let The Rain Of What I Feel Right Now, Come Down."

Title: Blue October - "Into The Ocean"

I've been MIA for what, a week now? My profs thought it would be an awesome idea to slam me with an insane amount of work before we go on break. Don't worry, they made sure to slam me with an insane amount of work to do over break too. So thoughtful.

I'm being a negative nancy today. My first thought was I will post and get all my anger out but what good will that do. So I decided I would post all my bad things but pair them with goods things to show myself that not all things are bad.

I hate the snow and the wind and this crappy weather that won't let Spring just make its way to me.
I love that it is finally Friday!

I hate that my college didn't have a delay & I had to drag my butt out of bed this morning because I *HAD* to be in class.
I love that I got there late worried that I wouldn't be able to find a parking space but most people left scared of the snow, leaving over half the parking spaces open.

I hate that my body felt the need to not allow me to breathe through my nose so I was awake most of the night from mouth breathing.
I love and I am so thankful to have a warm bed to lay in at night even if I'm not sleeping while others who are less fortunate worry about staying warm at night.

I despise lazy people who apparently have an inability to even write a phone message or write an email so I have to do it while they do nothing.
I love that I am blessed to have a job in these times when so many struggle without a job.

I hate that when Vito's birthday comes and goes this week, the most he may possibly get from his family is a phone call or a text message.
I love that my family celebrates his birthday just like he is one of our family all along.

I think that's a good enough list for right now.
So tell me, what is something you hate right now then follow it up with a positive!
It'll help, trust!

Fill in the Blank Friday {1}

I'm running low on motivation to write posts but I promise I will post pics soon from V-day.

So today I've decided to join in on Fill In The Blank Friday created by Lauren!

1. If I could medal in an olympic event it would be Ice Skating. I love to watch it.

2. If I was stranded on a deserted island I'd take a boat to get off of it. Or a house that would magically have electric and running water, ipod, books, my Princess, Zoe, and Vito.. If I get stuck, I might enjoy it.

3. Vomit & Clowns are my most irrational fears.

4. I'd rather starve everyday, than eat onions everyday.

5. I am sad I have to spend most of my weekend at school working on group projects .

6. I should really be working.

7. One of my favorite things in all the world is lying on the beach, surrounded by my family, listening to the waves crash and my niece laugh..

Feel free to get over to her blog and link up!

Happy Friday!

P.S. Please feel free to head over the the fabulous Valerie's blog, she is having a giveaway!

Bad Day Turned Good

Warning: Some drooling may occur after reading this blog post. I’d say I’m sorry, but I’m not. You can thank me later. 8)

Dear February 11th,

Today I woke up not so happy. There is still 1 million inches of snow on the ground and my uterus is attempting to eat me from the inside out. I’m stuck at home and these things do not make me a very happy person.

Then by the grace of Trending Topics on Twitter I realized today is not a waste. Why no, it is a blessed day that I’ve been waiting for since November 20th, 2009.

Today is the day where when I think about this man, my thoughts will no longer be considered illegal.

Please enjoy some eye candy with me!

Happy Birthday Taylor! It’s about time you turned 18!

I'm now going to cool down by shoveling some more snow so I can make it out of my house before his 19th birthday.

"Everybody Everybody Wants To Love, Everybody Everybody Wants To Be Loved"

Title: Ingrid Michaelson - "Everybody"

So a few things on this cold and soon to be even more snowy Tuesday before I rant about Valentine's day.

Firstly, if you notice in my comments, I changed my name from MoreThanMyOwnLife to Vanessa. Much more boring. I don't really have a good reason for changing it, but just so you know, don't get excited thinking it is someone new, it's just me. 8)

Second, take a gander over to the left side
<--------------
There is a new box. Formspring. You probably know about it by now because it seems to be all the rage in blogland right now. If not, I will explain. In stead of waiting for posts where I have y'all ask me questions you have been dying to know about me, at any point you can ask your questions by entering them into the box. You can include your name (which I prefer!) or you can do it anonymously if you wish. I'll then make sure to answer them for you. Make sense? Ask away!

Third, I hate snow.

On to the real matter of the day.

Presents. Not just any presents, but presents for V-day.

To start off, let me just express my distaste for V-day even though I do celebrate it. I'm not a fan of this day. I think it is unnecessary.

Why on earth do we need a day to celebrate love? In my opinion, shouldn't every day celebrate love? Why it is only focused on one day a year? Now don't get me wrong, I never turn down an opportunity to go out and buy presents for Vito, but really. I think it would be much more special if randomly one day he brought home something for me or decided to take me out one night rather then on the night everyone else is doing it.

Before Vito, my best guy friend and best girl friend use to dress up in all black, go out to eat, and go to the movies. It was still fun. I think if we are going to celebrate Valentine's day, it should celebrate all the love in our lives, not just our romantic love. I always buy my niece presents and take her out wherever she wants to go. But I also do that randomly, so I think it is okay.

Anyway, rant complete. Down to the real problem at hand. V-day is 5 days away and I do not have a present for the handsome man in my life. That's where I'm turning to y'all for help!

What did (or have you gotten) you get for your significant other(or now ex) or even friend?
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!

P.S. You can still request a card from me! I'm hoping to get them out tomorrow!

This One Is For Love! And This One Is For Valentine's! This One Is For Ro-mance!

Title: Quote from Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown

I can’t believe it is already 1 week until V-day.

That being said, I wanted to see who wants to be my Valentine?

I’m sending out cards so if you would like to receive one, leave me your email address in the comments below & I will contact you for your address!

If I was a color, I’d be Bright Pink.

If I was an emotion, I’d be excited.

If I was a fruit, I’d be a Strawberry.

If I was a sound, I’d be a child's laugh.

If I was an element, I’d be Fire.
