"Cuz I Know That Time Has Numbered My Days"

Title: Mumford & Sons - Babel

My Weekend in Numbers

3
The number of pumpkin related items I ate at the pumpkin fest on Saturday.  3. ONLY 3! At an entire festival, I saw less than 10 pumpkin food options.  How is that even possible!? I'm still upset.  But the pumpkin funnel cake, pumpkin whoopie pie, and pumpkin bread helped.
2
The number of pounds I've lost since last Monday.
1
The number of albums I've had on repeat (since the beginning of last week).
Mumford & Sons.
6
The number of loads of laundry I washed and put away yesterday.
7
The number of Fringe episodes I watched over the weekend.  That show has sucked me in & I'm only on the second season!
153
(Approximately) The number of tears I cried last night as Vito read 3 chapters of The Fault In Our Stars out loud.  We are getting close to the end. SOB.
1
The number of times I cooked over the weekend.  Chili. Mmmmm.
54
The High temperature yesterday.
17
(Approximately)  The number of times I wished it were Summer yesterday.
1
The number of books I finished over the weekend.  Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.  Such a powerful book.

3
The number of days over the weekend I wore Halloween-themed socks.
1
The number of pictures I took over the weekend.
5
The number of days I am counting down until the next weekend!

How was your weekend?

"I See Through You, You See Through Me"

Title: Ingrid Michaelson - "Glass"

Currently in the life of Vanessa...

Food I'm loving: Cherries.
Source: zurnal24.si via Katja on Pinterest

I. Cannot. Get. Enough. of Sweet cherries.  Our grocery store has been carrying ones with amazing flavor and I've been putting down a bag myself within a week.
One of the many reasons I love Summer.
Fresh fruit!

Music I have on repeat:  Ingrid Michaelson.

I am soon seeing her live so to pre-game for the concert, I have been listening to her non-stop at work. & while cooking dinner too so Vito is ready for the concert as well. I can't wait to see her live AND it has been a LONG time since I have been to a concert so I am extra excited!

Wedding planning: Catering

Dude. If there is anything that will make me cry angry tears during this planning process, it'll be the price of catering. Pricing is ridiculous. Has anyone ever served Ramen? Because we could be original...

Netflixing:  Doctor Who Season 6.

I have some serious doubts on this show.  But like everyone told me to, I stuck with it.  And this is the best season yet.
I l.o.v.e The Ponds.

Reading:  Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

I just started this book and I am excited to see where it goes!

Feeling:  Tired.
Source: via Lisa on Pinterest

Dead tired.
Between staying out late Saturday night for a party, not being able to sleep because I drank alcohol (terrible, right?), getting up early for church, going grocery shopping, cleaning, and hosting dinner, and then not sleeping well last night?
This girl needs a nap.
& there is no break until Wednesday.
Thank God the weekend was worth it. 8)

Currently, what is going on with you?

"Well, Hot & Heavy, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Candy, Jesus Christ"

Title: Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - "Home"

Hello loves. First I want to thank all of you who read the last post, said so many touching things, and most importantly send prayers. I watched a live stream of his memorial yesterday and it was beautiful. May his soul rest in peace.

Today, I decided to post something to cheer this place up. It's a dreary Monday here but this video never fails to brighten up the day. Not only do I love this song (it's my ringtone for when my home, which is usually my mom, calls me), I just love this little daddy/daughter duo. Hope you enjoy it too!

Happy Monday Loves!

"Music is an outburst of the soul"

Title: Quote by Frederick Delius

First off let me thank you all for your sweet words, encouragement, and love that poured into my comment section and inbox. The blog world never ceases to amaze me and I appreciate every single word y'all took time to write to me. Words can not express what they meant to me.

So I've successfully went to the gym twice last week and did some cardio (Elliptical and Stationary bike). I brought my gym clothes along and plan to get right back at it tonight after work.

So let's talk music.

I don't know about you, but cardio=death. I'm pretty much hate it while I'm doing it. All that sweat and breathing heavy, not for me. So in order to survive, I need distractions. I go to the gym at my college. Let's just say it is gorgeous and the best part of the college. It was just built recently and it is HUGE. Indoor pool, rock climbing wall, basketball courts, racquetball courts, and track. The fitness center overlooks the soccer field and outdoor track. It pretty much rocks.

Now each of the stationary bikes have their own TVs and the rest of the fitness equipment can tune into one of the 12 different TV's on the wall. I'm not a big TV watcher while exercising so this doesn't work best for me. I usually bring a book and my ipod to get me through. I have a "Work it!" playlist on my ipod just for working out. These songs range from pop songs that have a beat I can shake my booty too(Ex: Black Eyed Peas, Jet, Gaga, Pitbull) to rock songs that are angry and get my blood pumping (Ex: TV on the Radio, Three Days Grace, Nine Inch Nails).

After my last workout, I realized I need some new music to add to my list and this is where I need help!

So tell me, what are your favorite songs to work out to?
To dance to?
Angry songs work too!
